Watch Blade Runner: The Director’s Cut
June 19th, 2008
Blade Runner: The Director’s Cut did a lot to damage my respect for Ridley Scott. I can’t stand revisionism on a good day.
In my opinion, Ridley Scott ruined what was a great movie. I am sure I just upset a lot of people by saying that, but that is what I think.
Blade Runner totally loses its strength of storyline if Decker is a replicant. His being a replicant also destroys the nobility and humanity of Roy’s final acts.
I miss the narrative as well, even though many said that Harrison Ford did a bad job with it. I always thought he sounded tired, which fit the cynicism of the Decker character.
Anyway, here it is. Form your own opinions and I do hope you enjoy!

In Los Angeles, 2019, Deckard is a Blade Runner, a cop who specializes in terminating replicants. Originally in retirement, he is forced to re-enter the force when six replicants escape from an offworld colony to Earth.”
